This video presents Mike Austin, a golf genius which has driven the ball to 515 yards when he was 64 years old! He realized this exploit in 1974 in Las Vegas.

To succeed in doing his swing:

ON THE BACKSWING

1-Do a forwards small movement of the left wrist

2-Throw laterally the left arm while turning the left wrist around the arm axis (pronation of 1/8 of a turn) .The consequence of this action is the bust rotation. Pay attention to the left arm on the swing plane.

3-Arm "vertically" the left wrist.

IMPORTANT: move the 2 knees on the backswing because this action facilitates the low body movement on the downswing

ON THE DOWNSWING

At the beginning of the downswing:

4-Throw the club with the right hand and move the low body as recommended by Ben Hogan. So, the club is placed on the swing plane and we obtain the regularity about which all the golfers dream!

REMARK: the low body movement can be made or in a aware way or in a no-aware way.And so, each player has to choose among these two methods the one which produces the best golf shots. Do not go too fast with the low body when this action is consciously made.

" ONE, TWO, THREE " .Mike Austin summarizes his technique in this 3 words in front of Mike Dunnaway's swing, a long drive champion.

"ONE" for the forward small movement of the left wrist, "TWO" for the backswing, and "THREE" for the downswing. When the fundamentals are assimilated, this swing is easy to do.

The video below shows the left hand pronation movement at the beginning of the swing (phase 2) .It also shows the famous swing plane thanks to the Iron Byron.

The objective of Mike Austin's photography below is to show that it is possible to obtain, at the middle-descent , an angle of about 90 ° between the club and the left arm even if the golfer throws the club from the beginning of the downswing. The throw technique is taught by Mike Austin and Mike Dunaway in a DVD available on the site:
